Our Story

Ore was founded in 2012 when the deCordova Museum School closed its doors, the founders recognized the value of the tools and Ore Metals Studio was created with a vision of excellence to provide a community of artists the opportunity for creative expression in metals. Since then it has been the creative home of the members.

Ore Metals Studio is a community of silver/metal smiths located at the Mother Brook Arts & Community Center, alongside other artists. Ore aims to promote the art of working with metals in the creation of jewelry, vessels, sculptures, and enameling. The studio is well equipped with tools and equipment that have been curated over the last 70 years, including a 55-ton hydraulic press and kilns for enameling. The studio also has a professional ventilation system to ensure a safe environment for enameling, soldering, and polishing. Ore offers high quality classes and workshops, and also allows other artists to use its studio space.
