Beginning jewelry making students will learn the fundamental techniques for designing and fabricating a sterling silver textured band ring. Students will learn how to texture, file, form, solder, sand, and polish the ring. All materials will be provided, including sterling silver, copper (for practicing techniques), solder, and sandpaper.

In this hands-on workshop, students will be introduced to creating their own fused glass cabochons using colored, transparent and opaque glass, with copper and silver inclusions.
Students will learn to cut and arrange glass to make organic and geometric designs. Finished compositions will then be fired to create unique cabochon pieces, ready to be made into jewelry.

With this precision technique you can create beautiful color and pattern contrasts. Fabrication skills include piercing, sawing, filing, soldering, texturing, sanding and polishing.

In this workshop, students will learn the basics of kiln fired enamel; the art of fusing powdered glass to metal. Students will learn the steps to make enameled jewelry including pendants and earrings, and how to safely work with a 1500º kiln. Techniques will include dry sifting colored enamel powder onto copper, using stencils and decals, sgraffito (scratching through a top layer of enamel to reveal the layer beneath), and painting on enamels. Students will work on several pieces to take home. No prior jewelry experience needed.

Beginning jewelry-making students can continue learning in this workshop which focuses on creating a set of 6 textured bangle bracelets. Sterling silver and copper will be used. Students will learn to further develop their fabrication skills, including measurement, texturing, filing, forming, soldering, and tumbler finishing.

These tapered hollow forms known as spiculums provide a unique 3D visual fascination to your work. In this workshop we will take flat sheet metal using a cross peen hammer and a grooved work surface to pull/coax the metal into a tapered cone shape. Fabrication skills included in this workshop will be sawing, filing, hammering, annealing and soldering.
