You will also learn metal smithing techniques of forging, fold forming and much more to create the piece that you would like to make. Fold Form exploration and fabrication

Create a beautiful organic form - a leaf. Leaf earrings or Leaf pendant. Time to turn over a new leaf? Actually make a leaf form out of metal and turn that leaf over many times. You will be introduced to and practice basic soldering and annealing, a variety of hand tools and basic good workshop practices. Let’s see how far you can take this. Make earrings, a pendant or the start of something more.

Beginning Jewelry Series: Sterling Silver Band Ring

Beginning jewelry making students will learn the fundamental techniques for designing and fabricating a sterling silver textured band ring. Students will learn how to texture, file, form, solder, sand, and polish the ring. All materials will be provided, including sterling silver, copper (for practicing techniques), solder, and sandpaper. A materials fee of $40 is payable to the instructor on the day of the class.

Beginning Jewelry Series: Bangle Bracelets

Beginning jewelry-making students can continue learning in this workshop which focuses on creating a set of 6 textured bangle bracelets. Sterling silver and copper will be used. Students will learn to further develop their fabrication skills, including measurement, texturing, filing, forming, soldering, and tumbler finishing. All materials will be provided, including sterling silver and copper (in different shaped wires), solder, and sandpaper. A materials fee of $40 is payable to the instructor on the day of the class.
Teen Jewelry + Metalsmithing

This course will teach students fundamental skills in jewelry making/metalsmithing. Geared for teens 14+, class size will be limited to 8 students and in intimate setting. Students will learn the foundations of fabrication and joining methods including various types of soldering and cold connections such as rivets. Students will work on one project a day and explore forging, forming, and other decorative techniques such as roller printing, and stamping.

Beginning jewelry-making students can continue learning in this workshop which focuses on creating a sterling silver pendant with a bezel-set cabochon stone. Students will further develop their fabrication skills, including drilling, sawing, piercing, filing, multiple soldering techniques, finishing, and setting the stone. All materials will be provided: sterling silver, copper (for practice), cabochon stone, saw blades, solder, and sandpaper. A materials fee of $40 is payable to the instructor on the day of the class.
